Pet Grooming Service Agreement

Please read this agreement carefully before booking our services

This Service Agreement and Liability Waiver ("Agreement") is a legally binding contract between you ("Client," "you," or "your") and YUPET Grooming ("we," "us," or "our"). By booking an appointment and using our pet grooming services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.

1

Pet Health & Vaccination Requirements

By scheduling an appointment, you confirm and agree that:

  • Your pet is current on all required vaccinations, including but not limited to rabies, distemper, and bordetella.
  • You have disclosed if your pet has fleas, ticks, mites, or any skin conditions so we can take appropriate precautions and provide proper care.
  • You have disclosed all known health conditions, allergies, skin sensitivities, and behavioral issues.
  • Your pet is in good health and fit to undergo grooming services.
  • If your pet has any medical conditions that may affect grooming (seizures, heart conditions, arthritis, etc.), you have informed us in advance.

We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet that appears ill, aggressive, or poses a health risk to our staff or other animals.

2

Grooming Service Risks & Acknowledgments

You understand and acknowledge that pet grooming involves inherent risks. While we take every precaution to ensure your pet's safety and comfort, certain conditions may occur during or after grooming services:

Coat & Skin Conditions

  • Matted Fur: Severely matted coats may require shaving, which can reveal underlying skin irritation, sores, or bruising that was hidden by the mats.
  • Clipper Irritation: Some pets may experience minor clipper burn or irritation, especially those with sensitive skin or when mats are removed close to the skin.
  • Pre-existing Conditions: Grooming may uncover pre-existing skin conditions, lumps, parasites, or injuries that were not visible before the appointment.
  • Post-Grooming Scratching: Some pets may scratch or rub after grooming due to the new sensation of a fresh cut, which is normal behavior.

Ear Cleaning

  • Ear Sensitivity: Ear cleaning may cause temporary redness, irritation, or discomfort, especially in pets with pre-existing ear conditions.
  • Ear Infections: We may discover existing ear infections during cleaning. We are not responsible for pre-existing ear conditions.
  • Hair Plucking: If ear hair removal is requested or necessary, some pets may experience temporary redness or sensitivity.

Nail Trimming

  • Quick Nicking: Despite our best efforts, the nail quick (blood vessel) may occasionally be nicked, especially in pets with dark nails or overgrown quicks. Minor bleeding may occur.
  • Nail Sensitivity: Pets with overgrown nails may experience temporary discomfort after trimming as they adjust to the new nail length.

Behavioral & Stress-Related

  • Stress Reactions: Some pets may experience anxiety or stress during grooming, which can lead to panting, drooling, trembling, or attempts to escape.
  • Accidental Injury: Sudden movements by your pet during grooming may result in minor nicks, cuts, or scratches despite our careful handling.
  • Senior Pets: Older pets may have difficulty standing for extended periods and may require breaks or modified grooming procedures.
3

Additional Services & Fees

You understand and agree that additional services may be required and will incur extra charges:

  • Dematting: If your pet's coat has mats or tangles that require extra time and effort to remove, dematting services will be performed automatically and additional fees will apply based on the severity and time required.
  • Flea/Tick Treatment: If fleas or ticks are discovered during grooming, appropriate treatment may be applied with additional charges.
  • Special Handling: Pets requiring extra handling due to behavior, size, or medical conditions may incur additional fees.
  • Extended Grooming Time: Services that exceed the standard time allocation due to coat condition or pet behavior may result in additional charges.
  • Complimentary Services: Some services may be offered as complimentary add-ons during promotional periods. These complimentary services are only available for cooperative pets. If your pet is sensitive, fearful of certain sounds (such as nail grinders or dryers), or otherwise unable to safely receive these services, we reserve the right to skip them without compensation or substitution.

We will make every effort to inform you of additional charges before proceeding, but in some cases, the full extent of matting or other issues may not be apparent until grooming begins.

4

Liability Waiver & Release

By agreeing to this Service Agreement, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You release YUPET Grooming, its owners, employees, and contractors from any and all liability for injuries, illness, or damages that may occur during or as a result of grooming services, except in cases of gross negligence.
  • You understand that grooming is a physically demanding process and that minor injuries may occasionally occur despite our best efforts.
  • You are responsible for disclosing all relevant information about your pet's health, behavior, and history.
  • You will not hold us liable for any pre-existing conditions discovered during grooming.
  • You agree that any claims arising from grooming services shall be limited to the cost of the service provided.
5

Pet Behavior & Safety

  • If your pet exhibits aggressive behavior that poses a risk to our staff, we reserve the right to stop the grooming session immediately. You will be charged for services rendered up to that point.
  • Muzzles or other safety restraints may be used if necessary for the safety of your pet and our staff.
  • You are responsible for any injuries caused by your pet to our staff or equipment.
  • If your pet requires veterinary attention due to a pre-existing condition discovered during grooming, you are responsible for all veterinary costs.
6

Emergency Medical Authorization

In the event of a medical emergency, you authorize YUPET Grooming to seek immediate veterinary care for your pet. You agree to be responsible for all veterinary costs incurred. We will make every reasonable effort to contact you before seeking veterinary care, but in life-threatening situations, we may proceed without prior authorization.

7

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
  • Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) may be subject to a cancellation fee.
  • No-shows may be charged the full service amount and may affect future booking privileges.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances.

By using our services, you grant YUPET Grooming permission to take photographs or videos of your pet during grooming sessions. These images may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to our website, social media, and marketing materials. If you do not wish for your pet's images to be used, please inform us in writing before your appointment.
